Based at Ashbourne Leisure Centre this is an incredibly scenic Triathlon taking place in the beauty of the Peak District for the cycle leg and the picuresque Tissington trail for the run making the event extremely spectator friendly.

What is triathlon?

Triathlon is a multi-discipline event where people compete against the clock and each other. Swimming, cycling and running with no break except for the transition (this is a quick pit stop to change for the next discipline). All disciplines will take place within the grounds of the hall with a mixture of grass and tarmac surface

The event is based at Ashbourne Leisure Centre, Clifton Road, Ashbourne, Derbyshire. DE6 1DR

Distances

• Swim 400m (16 lengths)
• Cycle 17km
• Run 5km

First triathlon?

All you need is a swimming costume or trunks, goggles (not compulsory), a bike (road or mountain bike as long as it is in roadworthy condition), an approved cycle helmet (compulsory) and a pair of trainers.
So go on give it a Tri? You will be given full instructions before the event and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us. There will also be regular pre-race briefings aimed at novices.

Race facilities

Ashbourne Leisure Centre has ample toilets, full changing facilities, showers and refreshments. There is plenty of parking within the centre of Ashbourne.

Entry Fee

Individual entry (BTF affiliated) = £37
Individual entry (unaffiliated) = £42

Start times – between 7.30am – 10.30am

Your actual start time will be determined by the swim time on your entry form. Please be as accurate as possible so that you will be swimming with people of similar ability with faster swimmers setting off later in the day.

Chip Timing

Electronic timing will be used during the event and you will be able to download your times immediately after the race.

Pre and post race massage

A massage service will be available pre and post race.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to:-
1st 3 overall (men and women)
1st in each 10 year category (if you are a top 3 finisher then you will not be able to claim the AG award)
1st Relay team
1st Club/team (combined times of 3 individual finishers)
All competitors will receive a finisher’s tee shirt.
